Item is a scrapbook compiled by F. G. Banting probably with the help of Sadie Gairns, his research assistant at the Banting Institute. The scrapbooks include personal and family photographs, letters and memorabilia. For conservation reasons all items were removed from the original acidic scrapbook pages, remounted on acid-free paper and then encapsulated in mylar. The original layout of items on each page has been retained. The items are not in chronological order. Scrapbook 3 includes: clippings re: discovery of insulin and ensuing honours 1922-1930, memorabilia re: opening of the Banting Institute, family photographs, clippings re: F. G. Banting's death.
