One of the few photographs which shows three of the four co-discoverers of insulin together. Photographed in the Empress Hotel Gardens after the discoverers had each received the F.N.G. Starr Medal, awarded by the Canadian Medical Association at its annual meeting in Victoria, B.C., June 25, 1936. With them is Mrs. F.N.G. Starr, wife of the doctor in whose honour the medals were named.
