Autograph letter written on University of Rochester Department of Vital Economics letterhead and signed by John R. Murlin. Letter was sent to Banting along with a clipping from the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle entitled: 'Discovery of extract that has power to restore capacity lost in diabetes is made public by Dr. John R. Murlin.' The newspaper had printed verbatim the talk Murlin gave to the Rochester Medical Association on November 10, 1922.
