that of insulin, but, as stated, I prefer to reserve
interpretation until further studies can be completed.
Meanwhile the phenomenon is recorded as observed.
The methods of preparation of potent plant extracts
and the detailed results of experiments in which these
extracts have been used, and also the experiments on
animal passage of the principle, are being published in
the Jolurnal of Biological Chtenzistry and the papers are
now in press.
Until the actual identity of this substance has been
established, thle name "glucokinin" has been tentatively
adopted.
