Scope and Content

The article outlines Banting and Best's experiments from mid-November 1921 to the end of January 1922 and the conclusion of their longevity study of Dog 33. This article began as a paper delivered by Banting and Best to the Academy of Medicine, Toronto, entitled: 'The effect of pancreatic extracts on blood sugar and urinary sugar in experimental diabetes.' The Academy of Medicine then published a printed copy of the paper entitled: 'The internal secretion of the pancreas.'
