The notebook is divided as follows: Notes dated Jan. 21, 1921 to June 16, 1921 are carbon copies on pages 1 to 39 and are in E. C. Noble's and Best's hands. These notes are devoted entirely to recording experiments on the blood sugar of turtles. Notes dated May 21, 1921 to May 27, 1921 are on the 'duplicate' of page 88 and are in Best's hand. This page records notes for experiments on dog 387. Notes dated May 28 to June 12, 1921 are on the 'original' of pages 89 to 100. Notes in Nobel's hand record experiments on turtles from Jan. 21, 1921 to June 16, 1921 (occasionally notes on turtles are in Best's hand). Notes in Best's hand on dogs begin on page 88 (inscription at top of page reads 'Started work with Fred Banting May 17, 1921. The day after my 4 yr. P & B exams finished.') These notes start May 21, 1921 and continue through to Aug. 7, 1921. From June 17 to June 27 observations on dogs are recorded in Noble's hand.
