Item is a Walker's Re-form/fill Patent Duplicate Book with perforated leaves, intended to be completed in manuscript. The notebook originally contained a total of 200 pages, consisting of 100 original pages and 100 duplicate pages each numbered 1 to 100. The original leaves numbered 1 to 30 have been torn out; the duplicates remain. Leaves numbered 31 to 98 are blank and leaves numbered 99 and 100 have been torn out. The leaves numbered 1 to 30 contain carbon copy notes in the hand of both Banting and Best, with some corrections and additions made in pencil. Calculations in pencil are found on the verso of several of these leaves. The notes record work carried out from February 13, 1922 to May 2, 1922, covering experiments on dogs 41-42, 44, 46-53, 55-56, and dogs referred to as W and B.
