I hope that you have made real progress in straightening out the patent situation and that something has been done about including Banting's name in a separate patent, or the original patent. Our attorney Mr. Schley, is not very enthusiastic about the separate patents, but is willing to withhold his judgment until he learns what Mr. Riches has finally proposed.
I learned from rather influential sources in Rochester that Merlin has quite convinced the Rochester people that he was the original discoverer of this product that he now proposes to put on the market in conjunction with some packing houses. I think it would be advisable for you or some other member of the Toronto group to carefully review the literature, particularly the Merlin papers, from this standpoint.
