Professor Serafino Belfanti,
used for the estimation of blood sugar. This method is described in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Vol. 47. Insulin is administered subcutaneously to the rabbits used for the test. The clinical unit of insulin is 1/3 of the physiological unit. In a recent number of the Journal of Laboratory and Clinical medicine, Dr. D. T. Fraser has described a method for testing insulin, with mice being used as test objects.
Yours sincerely,
C. H. Best, M.A.,
