We, of the Beaumont Committee, are stressing your
work and your lectures feeling that the emental foundation work of
Pancreatic Investigatinon and study should be our aim in this important
series of lectures. We have heard much of your ability as a lecturer
and know mruch of your ability as a scientific investigator and studentjand
we feel that the profession of Detroit and its environs will 1e arnly re-

to stress the lecture on "Insulin but the Beaumont Comrmittee a:rs rcinimiz-

and fundamenrtl investigation work as being of vastly greater importance.
I have sent you under separate cover two days ago, a
copy of a recent bulletin of the Wayne Codnty Medicai Society which will
show you how we have featured the lectures. We have likewise, sent both
you and Dr. Banting a complimentary copy of the lectures of Dr, MacCallum
of Baltimore, who gave us our lectures last year on the subject of "Inflam-
maticn". These will give you some line as to the character of the work we
plan and the character of the work which we have had.
If there is anything more that your desire to know along
thene lines kindly gset in touch with me at once either by wire or letter.
I may add that we have, as you suggested, secured a com-

competent medical stenographer in existense We believe we have gotten the
best one available in Detroit and will bank on your promise to carefully
proof-read her notes so that they may be whipped into shape for the publi-

Now in regard to trains - on what date and that trains
can we expect both you and Dr. Banting? We are very anxious to have this mat-
