;-ou ernan-te' from Toronrto. Dere is
evidently a group there that will
shrink from nothing to advance their
own interests by crying down everybody
else opposed to them. I am very sorry
to reconrize that Dr. Banting has too
many affiliations with that set.
I have just heard from Dr.
M''Dibben, Dean of the "'fvestern" Medical
Faculty, that he wil] promote mry son's
appointment to the vacant Chair of
Biochemistry in London, the salaryT to
be about 4,000. a year. As there is
not mnuch teaching tc do the appointee
will have a great deal of time for
research, and London is a very nice
place to live i.n. The cost oa living
and house rernt are low there, and the
laboratory aacoolocdation in the
buildings recently erected is very
satisfac tory.
Yours sincerely,
Prof. J. J. R. Macleod, '.R.S.,
