Dear Sir -
We have delayed writing you
because until recently because we have not been
able to secure any significant results.
Infection has been our great trouble. We
have found it next to impossible to keep
a wound clean during the very hot weather.
Conditions in the animal room also are not
very good, as you know. We have run
through seven dogs as controls. The results
have been very interesting, but we have
never been able to secure a dog whose G:N
ratio remained at the diabetic value for
more than a day and most of the animals
die before the ratio is over a 3:1 value.
We have full details of all these animals
but are not inclosing them in the present
